About Duxbury

The Town of Duxbury was founded in 1637 and is located in Plymouth County about 33 miles south of Boston.

Many beautiful and historic homes from the Pilgrim period still exist in Duxbury. The town population is about 15000.

Duxbury contains a salt water beach as well as a summer time pool along with the North Hill Golf Course and Country Club.

GuardStart Part 3 of 3 | Duxbury, MA 02332

A program developed by the American Red Cross to bridge the gap between swim lessons and lifeguarding. For students in grades 6,7 & 8. GuardStart will give students the opportunity to improve their decision-making skills, develop as leaders, and learn some of the basics of Red Cross Lifeguarding.

Pre-requisite: Must be able to swim front crawl for 25 yds, tread water for 1 minute, and swim 10' under water.

Part 1 runs September 12 to Novemebr 7, 2011 and meets Monday afternoons 3:15-5pm in the Multi-purpose Room at the Percy Walker Pool. Students should bring swim suit (competition-style preferred for girls), towel, and goggles with them each week,

Part 2 wil be offered January 9 to March 12, 2012 and meets Monday afternoons Monday afternoons 3:15-5pm in the Multi-purpose Room at the Percy Walker Pool. Student DO NOT need swim gear, since they will be learning CPR and First Aid skills.

Part 3 will be offered March 19 to May 14, 2012 and meets 3:15-5pm in the Multi-purpose Room at the Percy Walker Pool. Students should bring swim suit (competition-style preferred for girls), towel, and goggles with them each week,

Students do not need to take the three parts in order.
